THE DECONSTRUCTED ENNEAGRAM

This web page presents a theory which explains the underlying structure and logic of the Enneagram.  There are a number of questions about the Enneagram teachings which have not been answered.  Some of these questions are:
 

• Why are there only nine types?
• Why are the nine types arranged in the order given?
• Why are two separate paths of transformation described?
• What determines the shape of the paths of transformation?
• Why do the three core types (3, 6, & 9) exhibit contradictory behavior?
• What is the basis of the theory of the higher and lower minds?

The theory presented here provides answers to all of the above questions.

CAVEAT:  The ideas presented here have not been presented to the general public prior to this, to the best of my knowledge.  There is no currently published literature on the Enneagram which reflects the ideas expressed here.  The ideas presented here are not intended to represent the views of any known teacher of the Enneagram, nor have they been sanctioned by any such person or group of persons.
